Song Brocade (Songjin silk), a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, is a traditional silk fabric renowned for its intricate patterns and refined texture, dating back to the Chinese Song Dynasty.
It features the Long-tailed Flycatcher motif, dyed using a revered Tang Dynasty palace technique. Each inch of fabric is immersed in botanical dyes—extracts of rose, mint, artemisia, orange, rosemary, and lavender. With every dyeing cycle, the silk is fixed in plant-ash water, allowing six layered notes of floral and herbal fragrance to permeate the mulberry silk fibers.The scent unfolds delicately at first, then lingers with a profound and lasting trail.
